Our body changes throughout our life: cells die and regenerate. But with each passing decade, they recover worse. After the age of 30, a person begins to lose 1-2% of muscle mass per year, even if he leads an active lifestyle. All tissues in the body suffer from damage, which is why signs of aging appear on the skin. We call it aging and we know it cannot be stopped.
External signs of aging appear around the age of 25
Why the signs of aging are visible on the skin:
- fat layer decreases;
- bone mass decreases;
- connective tissue is destroyed.
The metabolism in the connective tissue slows down. The building materials of our body are produced less and less: proteins (collagen and elastin) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans). Roughly speaking, the aging process is the gradual loss of these components. What can we do? Just try to slow down aging. It often even improves the condition of the skin, rejuvenating it with the help of competent care.
How do essential oils for the face work against wrinkles?
In plants, essential oils are involved in metabolic processes. The main components of esters - terpenoids and aromatic compounds - are very quickly and actively involved in various chemical reactions inside the cells. Active chemical reactions also occur when ether comes into contact with human skin. Phenols, aldehydes, organic acids and alcohols in the ether irritate the skin, blood flows faster to the place of contact with them. Thanks to this effect, compresses and applications with oil work. The higher the oil concentration and the longer the exposure, the more active the skin reaction.
Essential oils do not contain vitamins. The vitamin is held in either water or fat, the ester contains no fat or water.
Using face oil for wrinkles
When we need to treat fine lines and wrinkles, the options seem endless. Should you choose an anti-aging cream or a lightweight moisturizer? How about a vitamin C serum or acid gel?
Essential oils can't get rid of wrinkles, but they can help reduce them.
They can also:
- accelerate collagen production
- improve skin tone
- evens out the complexion
- reduce inflammation
- increase the turnover of epithelial cells
- protect your skin from environmental influences
What anti-wrinkle face oil to choose instead of a cream?
One of the most valuable components of skin oils is lipids (fats). They glue the horn cells (scales) together, creating a protective barrier that traps moisture. It also prevents the penetration of harmful microorganisms.
Applying it to the skin in its pure form seems to us to strengthen this protective barrier and to saturate the skin with moisture.
But the problem is that many vegetable oils do not have the right lipid ratio for our dermis. After applying it to the face, we immediately feel moisturized and comfortable, as it smoothes the cornified scales and softens them. It also creates a film that traps moisture on the surface.
If we continue to apply it regularly, it will begin to penetrate deeper into the skin layer and break down our own lipids. Their ratio will begin to change, which will lead to the destruction of the lipid barrier. The skin will become even drier and flaky.
Therefore, in order to strengthen the lipid layer, it will be much more beneficial to consume fat internally.
But there is good news. Vegetable oils, due to their moisturizing and emollient properties, are great for working with wrinkles if you approach it wisely.
Together with other components, they have a positive effect on the skin and smooth fine wrinkles. Therefore, they are even recommended for use in various mask recipes.
But so that the skin does not get used to it, the recipes need to be constantly changed. But more on that below. For the reasons mentioned above, it is not recommended to use it in its pure form on a regular basis, so replacing it with daily care instead of a cream will not work, as this can cause serious damage.
For wrinkles, additional moisturizing and softening, the pure form is used only in an emergency for a course of 1-2 weeks. This must be done in accordance with the following rules:
- Before applying, the face must be wet;
- the number of drops according to your skin type: dry 3-4 drops, normal 2-3, oily 1-2;
- after 15-20 minutes, wipe the lid with a napkin, thus removing its excess;
- be sure to apply moisturizer after use;
- Apply oil to the skin around the eyes two hours before going to bed to prevent severe swelling.
An effective and safer way to use anti-wrinkle oil is to add a small amount of drops to the various masks, the recipes of which are given below. Together with other components, such compositions will bring benefits for 20-30 minutes, if they are selected correctly (more on that later).
Anti-aging can be done 2-3 times a week. At the same time, so that the skin does not get used to it, it is recommended to change the composition of the masks once a month.
